WHAT WE DO:

Awareness & Education
We provide education on topics such as Cannabis, Prescription Drugs, and Alcohol in order to bring awareness of how these substances effect our youth and our community.
Community Empowerment
We work along side our community and residents of Pomona to empower one another, build relationships, and increase our communities strength to build change and combat substance use.
Advocacy & Policy Enactment
We advocate for change in our community surrounding issues related to youth substance use and abuse.
We also enact, change, and implement policy in our community to change the idea and reverse the trends on the acceptability of underage drinking and youth recreational marijuana use.
PREVENTION PROJECTS
HOW WE MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Project Sticker Shock
Project Sticker Shock is an annual campaign in the City of Pomona that typically occurs the week leading up to Super Bowl Sunday. This project aims to prevent underage youth from obtaining alcohol from adults 21 or older by raising community awareness about California state laws. During Project Sticker Shock volunteers place stickers on multipacks of alcohol & refrigerator door and floor of messaging detailing the legal consequences for providing alcohol to underage youth.

Community Quinceañera
Alcohol is the #1 abused drug by young people in Pomona. Studies show that young people obtain alcohol from adults 21 and over.
The Community Quinceañerx aims to raise awareness around underage drinking and challenges the normative idea of having alcohol at youth centered festivities.

This event celebrates cultural traditions and confirms that it is possible to have a celebratory event for a young person without the dangers of underage drinking.

We do this by sponsoring a alcohol-free coming of age celebration in the form of a quince or sweet sixteen to one Pomona youth who would otherwise not have a quince.
Prescription Take Back Day
Twice a year we team up with Pomona PD and local prevention organizations to host prescription take back day. This gives residents the opportunity to dispose of unused and expired prescriptions. This reduces youth access, prescription misuse and abuse.
